Continuing with bath styles - Bath #2 is a curated victorian style bath.
Victorian has been a well loved style by many for so long. Who doesn't love the ornate detail of an old victorian home? While years ago everything victorian was bold and maximal, the new modern victorian is usually more simplified, yet still remaining classy!
Curating this bathroom was easy and fun - and it's entirely from Home Depot online.
My choices here are pretty predictable for modern victorian, and since there are some splurges, I feel playing it safe is best!
- I chose a white beveled subway tile to give a bit more of a polished feel, and I 100% think the grout should be white!
- The blushed bronze faucets were chosen as a more elegant choice - they provide such a rich, warm feeling. Also, note that this room could still rock with silver faucets (polished chrome or brushed nickel) if that was a preference and would have equal staying power.
- The flooring chosen is a marble which I feel is a must - have! I mean marble just really works here. Agree?
For lighting in this bathroom, either a new reproduction or something truly old that has been updated by an electrician would really add some personality. And while victorian is known for wallpapers, I usually stay away from them in a frequently used bathroom, however, they are a great choice for a powder room if you are feeling like you need to add some to a victorian home.
What do you think, are you a fan of victorian? I'd love to know your favourite style. Leave a comment and let me know.
Tip: Keep in mind that every space is unique and the homes architecture and features of a room should be carefully considered before starting any design project. When you do have a plan in place, measure at least twice before ordering any materials!
Design should also be fun, so be true to your own taste and personality!
