Farmhouse Style Bath
Updated: Mar 14, 2019
This is a first in a series of 3 curated bathrooms. I'll be taking 3 styles I love and picking out what elements I would choose to pull a bathroom together. I feel a picture is worth a 1000 words, so I've done the work and curated a bathroom moodboard entirely from Home Depot online. Yep, that's right, this entire collection can be found there. Big box stores have really stepped up their game and it's never been easier to get everything you need in one order!
Kicking it off, is one of my favourite design styles, Farmhouse.
I love this style for so many reasons.. it's relaxed and laid back vibe, and then there's how practical and minimal it is. You know, when things aren't fancy or precious and they feel just right?
Some elements I like to include in this style include;
- wooden rustic touches
- classic subway tiles (you could also play with pattern if preferred)
- free-standing piecies
- oil rubbed and bronze finishes (hardware, faucets, lighting)
Adding your own personality through fabrics, furnishings and accessories can make a room your own ... so go ahead and add your favourite towels, a shower curtain and a rug and you are all set!
And if you are wondering about storage? I prefer a bathroom designed with a closet instead of storage under the sink, it isn't always possible, but if it is, it's great. Another alternative is to do a basket for towels under the sink and have extra wall hooks to accommodate storage bags!
What do you think, are you a fan of Farmhouse? I'd love to know your favourite style. Leave a comment and let me know.
Tip: Keep in mind that every space is unique and the homes architecture and features of a room should be carefully considered before starting any design project. When you do have a plan in place, measure at least twice before ordering any materials!
